The first family vineyard is the same one surrounding the company today and is the birthplace of the Grion and Balan red wines. From that vineyard we have learned the urgency of protecting with all our might what we have received as an inheritance from the generations that preceded us, in order to leave it intact for the generations that will follow.

The soils of this vineyard are clayey, with broad bands of extremely compacted sandy loam, known locally as “Caranto”. This type of soil is particularly present in the Venice Lagoon.
